The mission of the Lake Cumberland Area Development District is to provide a regional forum to governments and citizens in order to identify issues and opportunities and to then provide leadership in planning and implementing projects and programs to improve the quality of life within the district. LCADD serves ten members counties in South Central Kentucky: Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, McCreary, Pulaski, Russell, Taylor, and Wayne.
The Lake Cumberland Area Development District works to identify needs within the region and proactively promote and/or implement programs to address the needs of individuals, businesses, and local governments.

Providing programs and services such as escorts, transportation, assistance, outreach, reassurance, and meals to enhance the dignity, support, and independence of adults 60 years of age and older.
Providing employment services to employment services to adults, youth, dislocates workers, and trade affected workers within the LCADD’s 10-county area and Rockcastle, Laurel, and Whitley counties.
Providing a variety of planning services in addition to project planning technical assistance, financial packaging, grant application preparation and administrative services.
